Colliers Wood covers a diverse area that includes the city high street, an industrial business park and a rural arts and crafts village. FutureMerton is investing £6m into further developing both retail and business spaces to improve the area with better transport links, new shops, cleaner open spaces and community led markets and cultural events.
At the heart of Merton lies Morden, home of Merton Council’s Civic Centre. An established communal centre means that it is thriving with shops, cafes and businesses, including the Council’s own. It has excellent transport links with a busy underground station, two tram stops and 12 bus routes. It is also well linked to major roads including the A24 and A3. Raynes Park is a gem with a vibrant community. It has one of the lowest vacancy rates and is growing rapidly with more than 120 new homes, new retail spaces, including Waitrose and Sainsbury’s as well as an expanding café community. With more than 20 scattered industrial businesses and four industrial parks, the Council is working to increase business space and accessibility in the area.
Described as the powerhouse of Merton, Wimbledon provides 50% of the Borough’s employment. It is home to renowned national, international and independent business brands that work together to create a vibrant and flourishing business community. Supporting this exciting business community is Love Wimbledon, a Business Improvement District, set up specifically for the benefit of businesses to improve and promote the town centre.
